Summary:
As an LPN on the Medical Surgical Unit, you will utilize your LPN skills at a high level. Medical surgical units care for patients with a wide variety of conditions, making this setting one of the most diverse in healthcare. Patients on these units require post-surgical care, management of chronic conditions, and/or treatment for acute medical issues.

 

Typical medical surgical patients include those dealing with pneumonia, ENT, wound, bladder, UTI, also lung, stomach, liver & pancreas infections. Other patients may be recovering from adult, geriatric or GI surgery, urology, and ortho, excluding hips and knees. Fractures, general surgery, nephrology, dialysis, ostomy, hysterectomy, oral surgery, some cancer, NG tube insertion, foley catheters, sometimes peds overflow NO TELE, general medical patients-sepsis, incision and drainage.

Qualifications


*High School Diploma or GED
*Practical Nursing Formal Education approved by the NM Board of Nursing
*Licensed Practical Nurse-NM or Graduate Practical Nurse
*BLS required at time of hire
