Overview

Are you a RN who understands Regulatory certifications and accreditations?  The Presbyterian Quality Institute Department is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Stroke Program. 

 

In this role you will help meet the requirements of The Joint Commission (TJC) for the hospital's current or desired stroke certification level (e.g., Primary Stroke, Thrombectomy Ready, or Comprehensive Stroke Certification) in collaboration with the Stroke Program Medical Director. This position is responsible for the process and quality improvement activities related to program performance to improve service delivery continuously.

Responsibilities

  • Subject matter expert for TJC stroke certification requirements (all levels of TJC certification in partnership with the department and lead the stroke (re)certification process including all data presentations, policies, action plans, etc., and functions as a dyad pair.
  • Identifies and maintains an active list of stroke patients and support patient care rounds in partnership with clinical team members.
  • Tracking, trending, tracers, team rounding, and analyzing data to identify and improve processes related to quality/performance improvement monitoring and projects.
  • Generate reports, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations as needed to lead the Stroke Program quality/performance improvement efforts.
  • Present monthly metrics to operational teams in easy-to-understand formats.
  • Collaborate with Stroke Coordinators at other Presbyterian facilities to share best practices and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate and lead clinical teams through cycles of improvement using Presbyterian standard tools (e.g., Institute for Healthcare Improvement tools, etc.).
  • Serve on related quality and service committees.
  • Prioritize multiple projects, meet project deadlines, and manage multiple customer relationships using work plans, timelines, and project measures for all projects.
  • Perform other functions as required.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelors degree in nursing or 6 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree

 

Credentials:
New Mexico Registered Nurse or Compact State Nursing License 

 

Experience:

  • 3 years of quality improvement experience in a healthcare environment.
    Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Additional skills in database, statistical process control applications, EPIC, decision support systems, comparative and benchmarking skills and process mapping (Visio), project management preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification preferred.
