Overview

 

Presbyterian is seeking an experienced and dedicated MRI Supervisor to join our radiology team. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our MRI department, ensuring efficient workflow, patient safety, and high-quality imaging services. The MRI Supervisor will lead a team of technologists, coordinate scheduling, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and hires staff for the Radiology Department. Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and initiates/makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Adheres to JCAHO, FDA and ACR guidelines.
  • Monitors and orders supply as needed and follows financial guidelines for maintaining optimal budgetary compliance. Prepares budgets for CNM MRI and monitors.
  • Oversees daily activities of the MRI staff to optimize productivity and census manages when appropriate. Performs duties of the MRI technologist.
  • Attends meetings as required, takes minutes as required and participates on committees as needed and/or directed.
  • Functions as liaison between physicians and technologists and area support staff. Establishes and maintains communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Educates personnel on proper use of machinery and equipment within the MRI Department. Oversees new testing procedures.
  • Develops and implements scanning policies and procedures for the department as needed.
  • Ensures the delivery of quality services in the MRI Department. Acts as an educational resource and is available for consultation to medical, nursing and administrative staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree
  • Five years of MRI experience required
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging MRT (New Mexico licensure)
  • American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist - ARRT (MR)
