Overview

Physical therapist Assistants (PTA's) at Presbyterian play a vital role in helping patients regain movement, independence and quality of life through compassionate care and personalized treatment plans.

 

In this outpatient PTA role, under the supervision of a licensed PT, you'll care for a diverse patient population alongside a collaborative team of providers from a range of specialties. Our PTAs work as a team with physical therapists to treat people of all ages and abilities.

Where You’ll Work

Physical Therapy in Albuquerque on Las Estancias Dr is located in a modern, welcoming clinic. Located at 3630 Las Estancias Dr SW, the building houses multiple departments, including primary care, urgent care, rehabilitation and physical therapy. Just 20 minutes from downtown Albuquerque, the clinic offers a convenient location with nearby dining and shopping to help you make the most of your day.

 

The facility at Las Estancias is spacious and well-equipped, featuring therapy rooms, private patient treatment areas and advanced rehabilitation equipment. As part of Presbyterian Medical Group, we work closely with providers across our clinics, hospitals and specialties to support smooth, coordinated care.

Responsibilities

Treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.

Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served

Oversees and insures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient

Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.

Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.

Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.

Is a patient advocate.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Physical Therapy 
  • Certificate Physical Therapy Assistant 
  • Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data.
  • Basic computer skills required.
    Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting
  • BLS Required at time of Hire
