Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the daily operations of its Sterile Processing Department. This role ensures high standards of instrument sterilization and decontamination are consistently met, while maintaining compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines. The supervisor will oversee staff performance and training, implement quality improvement initiatives, and manage daily budgets for labor and supplies to support optimal surgical services and patient care.


Type of Opportunity: Full Time (1.0 FTE/40 hours)
Work Schedule: 8 Hour Days

This position is eligible for the Northern New Mexico differential of $4.00 per hour. (This differential may be adjusted or discontinued based on business requirements.)

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties of Sterile Processing Tech and Lead

  • Manages hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for staff

  • Identifies needs and expectations of internal and external customers

  • Maintains open communication with staff and customers

  • Oversees process validation and documentation

  • Develops departmental goals for quality and shares with other sites

  • Creates and updates policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards

  • Participates in budgeting and monitors labor and supply expenditures

  • Serves on relevant teams and committees

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Associate Degree in Business, Healthcare or related applicable field of study preferred. 3 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • National certification in sterile processing required.
  • Sterile Processing Leadership Certification (Certified Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) preferred.
  • One to three years practical experience in sterile processing techniques required.
  • One to two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid New Mexico drivers license.
