Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Supervisor for our Interventional Radiology (IR) department. This role is responsible for leading clinical and operational functions, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain staff schedules, assists manager with training of new employees, coaching of existing employees, hiring processes, ordering supplies and other duties as determined by direct manager/dotted line manager in addition to all responsibilities pertaining to an Interventional Radiology.
  • Technologist at PH and RMC.
  • Preparation and ongoing review of Department budget with Managers.
  • Verifies exam order by reviewing patient charts and discussing the best practice options with appropriate parties.
  • Responsible for work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Assists physicians, nurses, technologists, clinical support staff, front office staff, and leaders with patient care needs within their scope of care and training level.
  • Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives, safety and quality assurance.
  • Assists in maintaining the upkeep of department and equipment including ordering and stocking supplies, cleaning, correcting IT issues and communicating with appropriate parties to maintain facilities and equipment.
  • Works independently and interdependently within established procedures and protocols.
  • Establishes an efficient department workflow.
  • Serves as a resource for other staff members answering questions and providing instruction as necessary.
  • Performs special projects as assigned by manager.
  • Establishes and maintains communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
  • Develop relationships with professional affiliations and others as appropriate.
  • Assist in developing and revising department procedures.
  • Ensures IR supplies and equipment are available to end users when requested.
  • Makes day-to-day work assignments for department staff; monitors the progress of activities and projects.
  • Assesses workload on an on-going basis and makes staffing adjustments during peak and slow periods.
  • Assists managers with staff schedules, creating processes to ensure consistency and fairness in filling staffing needs as needed.
  • Provide proof of competency as required by annual and periodic skills assessments.
  • Anticipating and addressing customer needs in all forms related to licensure, training and scope of practice.
  • Educating employees and customers to pertinent information regarding radiation safety, policies and procedures and workflow needed.
  • Function as an effective team member through informational support, shift coverage, and responding to needs when requested and able.
  • Acquiring and applying superior skills to achieve high quality outcomes.
  • Planning and coordinating organizational change in alignment with company goals
  • Lift/push/pull over 60 pounds regularly.
  • Computer skills to include email, document creation/editing and typing at a minimum.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree
  • NM Radiography Tech
  • ARRT Rad Tech-Radiography required
  • Current BLS required.
  • Two years of training in specific college coursework, associate degree or diploma required.
  • Two years of Interventional Radiology experience required.
  • Four years of radiology experience preferred.
