As a Paramedic serving the community of Española, you’ll play a critical role on the front lines of emergency medical response. Operating primarily in a dynamic ambulance-based environment, you will assess patients, initiate life-saving interventions, and transport individuals to Preabyterian Espanola Hospital —all while collaborating closely with EMTs, dispatchers, and hospital staff.

Provides advanced pre-hospital care following approved medical protocols
Responds to trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and other emergencies
Collaborates with EMTs, dispatchers, and hospital staff
Operates ambulance equipment and monitors supplies
Documents patient care activities with accuracy and confidentiality
Participates in local health initiatives and emergency preparedness
Requires NM Paramedic License, NREMT certification, and valid driver’s license
Must perform well in high-pressure situations
Familiarity with Española’s geography and culture is advantageous
Job involves both urban and rural calls, requiring adaptability and cultural awareness
Position offers level I-V based on education and experience. Compensation reflects level V.
